What is DNow?
DNow is short for “Disciple Now.” This is a retreat weekend where we focus on mentoring and discipling students through 4 small group lessons, 2 worship services, 2 overnight fellowships, 1 local missions project, and 1 morning and afternoon of recreation! All for just $25!
Who can participate in DNow?
We usually have participants spanning the range of 7th grade to 12th grade! It’s for everyone in youth group and usually nearly everyone participates!!
With all these students where will my student stay the night?
We break up the total # of students into several host homes. Each host home is ONLY one gender and one age group. i.e. Middle School Guys or 10th Grade Girls. So, your student will be staying with students his or her own age and gender!! Each host home will have a minimum of 2 approved youth ministry leaders (same gender as your student) and at least 1 parent / church member whose home it is.
Is this event just for Hope Springs students?
No. Students can bring whomever they like as long as they sign-up in advance. This is a great weekend to bring visitors for fun and games! Plus, we get to bring a little Jesus to ‘em!!!!
DNow is part of a ministry called “Common Ground Youth Ministry.” This is an interdenominational partnership among 13 local churches. Each of these churches participates in DNow! That is why our corporate worship services and recreation usually see about 350 students & leaders!!! But, only our students (and their guests) will be staying at our host homes and participating our small group lessons.
Where will the events be taking place?
The corporate worship service is at Cornerstone Church on Lexington Rd.
Recreation will be at Winterville First Baptist.
Our Service Project is organized by Hands On Northeast Georgia and is TBA.
Host Homes will not be revealed on this site for safety reasons. When you drop off your student for DNow you will get a contact sheet with the Host Homes address & phone number, as well as the cell phone numbers of the leaders staying at the house.
My student can drive, will they be driving other students?
NO! Students, no matter their age, WILL NOT DRIVE themselves and will only be riding with approved 25 or older adult members of Tuckston UMC.
Ok, I’m in! What do I need to bring!?!
You are going to be spending 2 nights away from home and will need clothes for 2 days, 1 outdoor recreation, and 1 (possibly outdoor) service project.
