MISSION STATEMENT
Sparrow’s Nest is a non-profit, Christ-centered ministry that seeks to change lives through the power of God and nurturing relationships. By creatively meeting the needs of the at-risk population, we build trust, which is the doorway to hope and transformation.
VISION
To transform the climate of the inner-city Athens community.
OBJECTIVES
- To continue and expand existing ministries.
- To establish after-school programs for at-risk youth, offering tutoring, mentoring, Internet Cafe, homework help and more.
- To begin “Welfare to Workplace” program designed to move the inner-city unemployed into the workforce. This will include teaching skills for employment, work ethics, job counseling and placement, as well as follow up sessions which will be instrumental in fostering a career mind set.
- To increase community awareness of, and participation in, The Sparrow’s Nest, giving caring people a place to use their God-given time, talents, and treasures.
