“This is for your own good,” sounds like something horrible is about to happen. It sounds like what your mom says when you’re about to have to take a dose of horrible tasting medicine or like what the doctor says as he’s administering a shot. “This is for your own good,” sounds like what they say to a kid right before a spanking. The sentence brings no warm fuzzy feelings to me, yet these are the words of Jesus to us just before His life is taken at the Cross. These are His words of comfort and vision. How can words that conjure up such negative images possibly comfort and envision us. Join me this week as we uncover the warm comfort that lies waiting for you and me just beyond Christ’s words. Believe me, this is for your own good!
See you in Church,
Lee
