Did you know that the word Gethsemanee means oil press? It was the place on the Mount of Olives where the olives were put under the press in order to extract the oil which was so precious to the people of that region. That oil was used for everything from cooking to healing, from moisturizing dry skin to religious anointings. In the garden of Gethsemanee Jesus came under great pressure as well. When under the press in that place Jesus reveals something about himself which I find very comforting and something I find very disturbing.
