When Paul traveled to Ephesus he found a group of disciples who he assumed were disciples of Jesus. He wasn’t there long, however, before he noticed that there was something different about these disciples. There seemed to be something missing. Paul began a gentle query trying to explore who these people were. They looked like disciples and sounded like disciples but he was certain that they weren’t disciples as he had come to know them. This weeks message begins an exploration into the distinguishing characteristics of the disciples of Jesus. It begs us to answer and address the question, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed.” If we intend to enter into a life of adventure and discovery It’s a question we can’t avoid!
